At Taurean Medical Services, we aim to provide the same convenient, quality service in our training courses that has made us a leader in the First Aid industry. The training is delivered in a relaxed and informal manner, throughout the course our trainers will be constantly assessing their students to ensure that they are competent to perform the tasks that may be required, this means that the student will NOT have to sit any formal exam, which is often very stressful. As from 1st October 2009 the HSE brought in new guidelines for courses. Click herefor changes to Health and Safety First Aid at Work Regulations.
Taurean Medical Services (TMS) offer Health & Safety Executive courses that meet the current Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. These courses are delivered in accordance with the Approved Code of Practice for qualifying First Aid personnel in the workplace.
Course Size: Maximum of 12 delegates.
Course Duration: Three consecutive days (we can also offer it as a split course, subject to HSE statutory requirements).
Course Outcome: Candidates who successfully complete the course and final assessments, will receive a HSE approved First Aid at Work certificate, valid for 3 years. This certification to allows First Aid practice for three years after which a re-qualification course is necessary.
Course Update: The HSE now recommend that all First Aiders attend annual refresher training to prevent ‘First Aid Skill Fade’.
Taurean Medical Services (TMS) offer Health & Safety Executive courses that meet the current Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. These two-day re-qualification courses are available for students who hold a current, valid FAW certificate. An On site (in house) option is available.

This course will became the new Emergency First Aid in the workplace course as of 1st October 2009. One day courses designed to meet the minimum requirements of a First Aider.
Course Size: These courses are tailor-made to suit the needs of the client group. They Can be run at your premises provided there is suitable floor space to undertake training. Book 10 places to receive 2 free places!
Course Duration: One day course.
Course Outcome: On completion of this training, candidates will receive a certificate of attendance, which is HSE approved and valid for 3 years.
The AED course is designed to teach anyone who may be called upon to use an AED the skills to use the AED safely and effectively. The course covers CPR and defibrillation safety as well as practical issues around using an AED and relevant reporting. By training in Basic Life Support and Automated External Defibrillation, the First Responder will offer the best care to the victim.
This course will give the user the core competence and skills to use any defibrillator safely following the current guidelines as laid down by the Resuscitation Council (UK).
This course is most popular amongst GP surgeries.
Course Size: Up to 6 delegates per trainer.
Course Duration: The course lasts for half a day (4 hours).
Course Outcome: On completion of this training, candidates will receive a certificate of attendance valid for 1 year.
Candidates will learn how to deal with the type of injuries and medical emergencies that can happen during sporting activities. This course is popular with rugby and football clubs, gymnasiums, and sports clubs.
Course Size: Up to 12 delegates.
Course Duration: One day.
Course Outcome: On completion of this training, candidates will receive a certificate of attendance, which is valid for 3 years.
These courses are open to all who require the basic knowledge needed to provide resuscitation to the collapsed victim, following the current guidelines as laid down by the Resuscitation Council (UK).
This course is most popular amongst GP surgeries.
Course Size: This course can be run in-house for groups of up to 12 delegates.
Course Duration: 2.5 hours.
Course Outcome: On completion of this training, candidates will receive a certificate of attendance.
These courses are open to all who require the basic knowledge needed to provide resuscitation to the collapsed child, following the current guidelines as laid down by the Resuscitation Council (UK).
This course is most popular amongst childcare providers, schools, and extracurricular clubs.
Course Size: This course can be run in-house for groups of up to 12 delegates.
Course Duration: 2.5 hours.
Course Outcome: On completion of this training, candidates will receive a certificate of attendance.
